title: Introduction
description: Connect ChatGPT or Codex to a supported board with openlaunch. Pair your device, choose the functions an agent may use and inspect each action result.
---

openlaunch connects agents to device operations that an owner approves. The Uno R4 WiFi supports health checks, its built-in LED and matrix text. The Pi runtime reports process health. Custom device functions can be described in a manifest and granted individually. Device credentials stay separate from AI provider credentials.

A **device** is a board. An **agent** is software requesting an operation. A **capability** is one operation, such as setting an LED. A **grant** is an owner's permission for one agent to use selected capabilities on one device until a specified expiry.

## Get started

1. [Start the console](/docs/setup).
2. Pair an [Uno R4 WiFi](/docs/uno-r4) or [Pi 4](/docs/pi).
3. [Connect an agent](/docs/agents) and grant health access.
4. Request a health check and inspect the reported result.

## Guides

[Permissions](/docs/pairing) explains enrollment, grants and command results. The [API reference](/docs/api) and [architecture](/docs/architecture) describe the shared service. [Resources](/docs/resources) links source, firmware and setup materials. [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting) covers common connection problems.

The [verification page](/docs/status) records hosted software behavior and remaining physical device checks. The docs include search, Markdown downloads, PDF and EPUB exports, browser narration and a [read-only documentation MCP server](/docs/agents#documentation-for-agents).
