Troubleshooting

Fix common openlaunch connection, enrollment, permission and action problems, with guidance for trusted HTTPS and repaired boards.

My board cannot reach the bridge

127.0.0.1 means the computer making the request. On a board, it does not mean your Mac.

Use a trusted HTTPS reverse proxy you control, pointing to your local bridge at http://127.0.0.1:8788. Set OPENLAUNCH_PUBLIC_ORIGIN to its exact HTTPS origin before starting the bridge. Open the console using that address too. Close the proxy when your test ends.

Uno firmware requires HTTPS on port 443, a trusted hostname, and a valid clock. Keep TLS certificate checks enabled. A plain LAN IP or a self-signed certificate won’t meet those requirements.

Pairing expired

Create a new enrollment and retry. Enrollments expire after 10 minutes and can be used once. Choose the board type that matches your device.

The agent cannot see my board

Pairing and agent access are separate. Grant the correct agent a capability for that board. Check that the grant has not expired or been revoked. For the local adapter, the agent is local-agent.

My action stays queued

Devices poll every 10 seconds. Check power, Wi-Fi, the bridge address and the board’s last-seen time. An expired queued action did not execute. A delivered action without a result can have an uncertain outcome: inspect the board before repeating it.

Codex says the bridge is unavailable

Start npm run start:local in your installed checkout. A restart replaces local credentials, so reconnect the MCP adapter as well. Never change the adapter to use your owner credential.

I have a repaired Uno

Use the separate console-mux profile and its integrity checks. It reroutes through the console UART, not USB D+/D−. Follow the profile guide. Keep repair assets private and preserve the custom ESP firmware.

Report a problem

Open a GitHub issue with your OS, board profile, software commit and error message. Remove tokens, Wi-Fi passwords, enrollment codes and private repair files before sharing logs.
